This Christmas has been a memorable one. It started with a morning church service at Good Shepherd in Edina and was followed by lunch at my grandparent's house. There were no gifts or cards this year - just the nine of us sitting around sharing our favorite Christmas memories. Grandma remembers the brown paper sack of goodies after the church Christmas program - Grandpa remembers the last year of the war when their ship made it through one of the worst storms on the Atlantic in 75 years. It was fun to think back and remember all the gifts and good times.
Later that evening, Rick and I went to see a movie in Roseville. It was absolutely packed and everyone was crowding in to try and get a seat for Marley and Me. We ended up seeing Doubt, which was very well done. Upon leaving the movie, we walked out into the cold, dark parking lot only to discover that Rick's car had been stolen. Talk about a test of faith. Two days later the car was recovered, but the interior had been stripped for parts and it was deemed undrivable.
Next year, when we sit around the table of Swedish meatballs and lefse in celebration, THIS Christmas will undoubtedly be named one of the most memorable.
